Crafting Unforgettable Journeys
Wheelchair accessible safaris
Kenya Doesn’t Ask You to Leave Your Wheels at Home!
You shouldn’t have to choose between seeing the Big Five and traveling the way that works for your body. At Nakupendakenya, wheelchair users and travelers with limited mobility get the same rush we promise everyone else — that first glimpse of a lion in the grass, an elephant herd crossing the road ahead of you, the sun dropping over the savannah — without a single compromise on comfort or dignity.
We’ve built this safari around one idea: accessibility isn’t an add-on, it’s part of the plan from day one.
What Makes It Accessible?
Adapted safari vehicles. Every vehicle is checked before departure so loading and unloading is smooth at every game drive, not just the first one.
Accessible accommodation. We route your safari through camps and lodges with ground-floor or ramp-accessible rooms, roll-in showers, and wide doorways.
Terrain-smart routing. Not every park is equal underfoot. We favor parks and conservancies known for graded roads and flatter terrain — places like Amboseli and Tsavo tend to be easier going than more rugged reserves — and we’re upfront with you about which stops involve rougher ground so there are no surprises.
A guide who knows the difference. Your driver-guide is briefed on your specific mobility needs before the trip starts, not figuring it out on the fly. Pace, stops, and photo opportunities are planned around what works for you.
Plan Around You, Not the Other Way Around
Every accessible safari with us starts with a conversation, not a form. Tell us your mobility needs — whether you use a wheelchair full-time, have limited walking ability, or travel with someone who does — and we’ll build the route, vehicle, and pace around that from the first day to the last.

“Bettina and the team are wonderful! She is great to organize and arrange everything. She has always been very responsive to questions and concerns. She has been great to help with emergencies and change plans when needed. I highly recommend using Nakupendakenya Safari and tours service. She is also very good at arranging transportation in Mombasa and Nairobi if you need reliable transportation or tour guides.”
